Lakewood Varsity Football vs Gahr

Now that I covered my first Varsity game under the lights and yes it was on a Friday, I can officially say its football time and what would football be without our beautiful cheerleaders.  So with that I want to start with a few shots of them doing their thing.

As I edit my shots I am always looking for a shot that will translate well into my b&w conversion, so what you want about it, but I like it.

Now to the acton.

Ok, I said in the past I would give more background on how I got the shot.  For this game I will cover the shot below.  First my settings were ISO 3200 (as high as my camera goes), f/2.8, and a shutter of 1/320.  For this shot I positioned myself behind the line of scrimmage.  The team I was covering was on defense and I wanted to get some shots of the defense putting presure or even sacking the quarterback, so as the quarterback dropped back to pass #52 came in from the outside and provided the presure.  This gave me some very nice shots of the quarterback scrambling towards my side to avoid the tackle.  No flash was used as I don't really care for the look of flashed shots in football.
