Lakewood Varsity Football vs Loyola

This was a rough game to shoot as the team I cover lost more yards in penalties then they did running the ball.  Now I know that might be a exaggeration, but its pretty close.  When this happens it's tough to get quality action shots since moving the ball is almost stopped.  I did get some nice shots, but not the shots I want at the end of a game.

This was our first home preseason game.

You never know what the game will bring, so I like to grab some warm-up shots prior to game time.  This allows me to get shots of players who don't see game time, or shots at angles I normally wouldn't get.  In this case it helped as the team I covered had issues with moving the ball forward, which made getting the action tough.  So by shooting some pregame warm-up, I was able to get some great action.

Just something to think about when your shooting a game.

  1. What's your primary lens you use for these 70-200?

    Thanks!

  2. I pretty much shoot with my 300 f/2.8 for almost everything. I've even done some sunsets with it :)
