Sonny Bono National Wildlife Reserve - Salton Sea

I had several photographer friends who took a road trip to the Salton Sea and Sonny Bono National Wildlife Reserve back in early January 2017, which I missed.  So I decided I would make every effort to attend the next road trip out there.  They all spoke very highly about the location and all the photography opportunities.

Well last weekend was this years road trip, which I was able to attend.  Most importantly my wife and son were able to join us as well.  We left our house at 3am with hopes of getting out there for a sunrise, which we made, but unfortunately there were no clouds and not much of a sunrise.

We spent the whole day and following day shooting sunrises, sunsets, and various wildlife in the area.  This is definitely a place I need to visit again and spend more time exploring, there is just so much to see and shoot, which you'll see when you look at the below shots.

The places we visited while on the road trip:

Sonny Bono National Wildlife Reserve
Salton Sea - North Shore Beach & Yacht Club
Slab City
Salvation Mountain

Please enjoy my shots from the trip.
