If your looking for someone to capture your child in action, to show the intensity and emotion in which your child plays, look no further. Just drop me a line (e-mail) at homerkenpo@aol.com. Sportsshooter

For those that don't know, there is a website called Sportsshooter that I frequent. On the most part I go to see what others are shooting and to see what I can do to better my sports photography.

I've attempted to become a member in the past by submitting some of my favorite shots, but was declined. Not sure why but I'm guessing it was because I didn't have any captions attached to any of my images. From what I see and hear, Sportsshooter is a site for professional sports photographers, journalist, and students. Quite a few of these photographers are shooting for professional teams or newspapers. At this level writing captions can be just as important as the action shot itself. This is the area where I lack. At the level of sports I shoot I don't really deal with captions, just no need for it, but in order to become a member of Sportsshooter I needed to add this and get a better understanding. Well now I think I'm ready to resubmit my pictures and this time I have captions.

So hopefully the Senior Photographer at Sportsshooter, whom I asked to sponsor me, will think I qualify and approve my request.

Narbonne Baseball

Got the word from the wife that my nephew had a baseball game this last Friday and since I haven't had much going on at the moment I decided to get out and shoot some action, but first there were some things to do. I made arrangements with the wife to bring my gear with her to the game so I could leave right after work and not have to drive home. The next thing I needed to do was make arrangments to have field access. I contacted my sister, who in turn spoke to the teams coach and obtained permission for field access.

By the time I arrived the game had already started. So I put on the knee pads and got the gear ready for some action. I did shoot the whole game getting some decent action shots of the players, but most importantly some nice shots of my nephew.

A bit of field and sliding action.

Some batting action.

What good is going to my nephew's game and not taking some pictures of him, not good at all. So here are some of my favorites of him taken during the game.

Making a dive back to first.

Finally something just for the fun of it.

The Future of Lakewood Football

I was recently asked to take a few group shots for lakewood football. Their coach asked if I would get a shot of the 2008/09 captains and a shot of their seniors. Also at the last minute I was asked to take a group shot of Lakewood's summer camp for 2008. These kids are truely the future of Lakewood Football and will be the All-Stars in the years to come.

"Green and Gold"

The colors of Narbonne High School, "Green & Gold". My nephew James graduated yesterday from Narbonne High School. Now originally I didn't think I was going to make it, but at the last minute I was able to get out of work early enough to head over to the school. My sister was kind enough to save me the best seat in the house to capture this joyous event.

After going through the pictures I took during the graduation I have to say that I'm a bit dissapointed with how they turned out. I don't know if it was because of the crowds, but I just couldn't get a sharp focus on him. So if the pictures appear soft, well I take full blame for that. It's not that this is a bad job, but I did want my sister to have some shots of her first graduating from high school.

James is the first of all of our kids to graduate and were all so very proud of him. In August he will be leaving to attend college out of state. He is a great kid and will achive so much in the next few years.

James, I wish you the best of luck in your future, no matter where it may take you and know that I'm am only a phone call away "Nephew James"

With all that said, here are some pictures to share with you and the family, enjoy.
