Chanse

Its been awhile since I've had a senior portrait session, but when my sister-in-law asked, of course I said yes.

I sort of handle my senior portraits like I handle my sports.  I bring my gear, show, up, and let things happen as they do.  I go with what I feel and try to make things work in a visual sense.  This time was a little different as I had a new addition to my gear I've been wanting to try out.  I recently bought an Einstein strobe, along with an octagon soft box so I can raise the level of my work.  I was hesitant to use it during this shoot and fell into my normal routine, but I then came to a point where I just had to use it and you'll see why below.

Oh I should add these were all shot with my 300 f/2.8.  I'm going to start a new trend for senior portraits with that 300.

These are my favorites from the shoot, please enjoy.

"K" Times 3 (Triplets)

The day I was so stressed about has come and gone.

A couple of months ago I was contacted by the mother of these three beautiful young ladies inquiring about senior portraits.  I do have prior experience photographing these three girls, but it was for softball and they were much younger, now their high school seniors and will soon be off to college.  Where does the time go.

Needless to say when their mom asked about taking the portraits I was excited, but very nervous at the same time.  I'm a sports shooter and although I've done some portraits in the past, its just not my main thing.  What made me ever more nervous was the fact their triplets.  I would think a professional portrait photographer would simply schedule them individually, but not me.  My thought was to spend some time shooting and do this at one time.

So the time came for the shoot and with the help of my sweetheart (daughter) we all enjoyed an afternoon at Yorba Regional Park shooting.  It was a perfect day to be out shooting and I couldn't have asked for better subjects to shoot.

I thank these young ladies mother for giving me the opportunity to photography them and how can I not thanks these beautiful girls for being such great subjects to shoot.  You made the afternoon perfect.

Kirstyn - Senior Portraits

Here we go again, the sports guy doing senior portraits, well once again I surprised myself.  Its not a matter of thinking I'm all that, because I know I'm far from it, but I went into this shoot rather nervous.  Most, well if not all of my prior senior portraits have been done for friends and I'm not talking about the parents.  All of my prior seniors I have known and already felt comfortable around them.  So in this shoot I really stepped out of my comfort zone, but this is something I would love to do more of.

Within the first few minutes I knew all was going to be great, not because of the shots, but I kept to my true form and personality and we were both comfortable after a few shots.  Once those first few moments & shots were over we could both relax and enjoy the shoot.

Kirstyn is a beautiful young lady and it was my pleasure to capture her beauty in these shots.

Draven's Senior Portraits

I shot my nephew's senior portraits this past Sunday.  He's a great kid and I had a blast shooting him and capturing his personality.

Here are my favorites from the shoot.

Tatiana's Senior Portraits

Ok, I might have to change my heading on my blog from Sports Action Photography to just Cayer's Photography.  I will be the first to say I have a long way to go when it comes to portraits, especially senior portraits.  I have been getting involved in many forms of photography and to put it simply - I'm loving it.

Well enough of that.  I was asked by a friend of the family to take her daughter's senior portraits and I said yes.  She brought her daughter (the senior) and her two t  win sisters, who of course I had to take a few shots of as well.  All the girls seemed to have a good time and I have to say I rather enjoyed the session as well.

So below you find the beautiful Tatiana, who will be graduating this year.  I wish you best in the next stage of your life.
