Senior Portraits

After track and prior to running out to the softball game it was senior portraits for a friend. Got the word Friday night that a friend needed some senior portriats for her son. I was hoping I could get my off camera flash setup before the shoot but a piece wasn't in yet. I hope to use pocket wizards with a softball setup for portraits in the future, but for now I had to use my on camera flash, which I guess turned out pretty good. So needless to say this is a bit out of my norm.

He was a very pleasent young man and I think I did pretty good relaxing him around a stranger (me).

Wa Bam Girls Fastpitch Softball

The end of a busy day.

I didn't really capture a lot of field action during this game, but I was able to get a lot of balls in the batting shots, as you'll see below. This was their last season game and my third game of shooting them. I hope to put together a DVD slideshow for the girls, something they can look back at years from now.

The Pictures "Moore League Finals Discus"

He may have gotten third place but he'll always be first in my book. Here are the shots.

Moore League Discus Finals

Just yesterday my son had his Moore League Finals in Discus throwing. I talked to my instuctor and left class early so I can be there when he threw. He's had a great season with the discus, winning first except for one league meet, in which his team mate beat him. Well for the finals it just wasn't meant to be. He was about 2 1/2' short of winning, which is close in the discus throwing. I knew he was doing his best to keep his game face on but I could tell that he was upset with his throws. Either way I'm very proud of him and what he has acomplished and I can't wait until next year when he will be on the Varsity squad. He ended up taking third place in the Moore League with the discus.

Can you say "Shot Put Moore League Champ"

I have no pictures to show for this entry but I just had to put something down here. Today my son too part in the Moore League Finals for lower level track, which means the Frosh (freshmen & sophomore) athlete's. This year he was undefeated for shot put, winning every league meet, but you can't go into this with the attitude that your going to win. Last year he was undefeated in shot put as a freshmen going into the finals and was beaten by another freshmen who had one good throw, winning by three inches. He didn't want that to happen again.

His best throw going into the finals was 47'-6" and on his final throw he threw the shot put 47'-10". The closest thrower to him threw 43'-10". I'm am so proud and excited for my son right now and so disappointed that I missed the whole event due to a class I was taking.

Tomorrow he competes with the discus in the Moore League Finals, but that's another entry. So congrats son for your winning throw. I wasn't there physically but my heart was right next to you during each and every throw. Great Job!
