Lakewood Varsity vs Mayfair "The Milk Bucket"

Every team has those games that mean a great deal to them and the school. One is playing against our rival Poly High School and the other is playing against Mayfair High School for the Milk Bucket. Well this was for the Milk Bucket, which was currently housed at Lakewood High. The first half was filled with intense game play from both teams, but during the second half Lakewood put on the heat and dominated the second half with a final score of 35-7. So the Milk Bucket will remain at Lakewood another year.
Here are a few shots to share from this game.

This shot has a little more meaning to it than just another action shot. This young man (#22) has paid his dues and worked his way up on the varsity roster, but does not get a lot of game time. Well he made up for it this game. When given the opportunity to play he took it full force with making some key plays. One being this pass interception, which he ran 30+ yards back for a touch down. I was happy that I was in good position to capture this. I have already sent his mom this shot.

Here is a team shot with Coach Mac in the middle holding up the Milk Bucket, which will remain at Lakewood for at least another year (where it belongs).

I think that's the best team photo I've ever seen. A nice, candid moment instead of stiff smiles. Nice. :)
