CSULB Women's Basketball vs Colorado

My first basketball of the season.  Was asked last week to cover the California State University Long Beach (CSULB) Woman's Basketball game against Colorado in the Walter Pyramid.  I do not shoot a lot of basketball, but its always a pleasure to shoot it at Cal State as the lighting is nice, especially considering what I'm used to with our high school gyms.

Here are my favorites from the game.  All were taken with the Canon 7D mark II and the Canon 70-200 f/2.8L IS.

CSLB Women's Basketball vs Columbia

I was asked to cover Cal State Long Beach Women's basketball followed by the men's game against Pacific.  Had a great time covering the games, but did have to find my mark again.  Had my camera at Canon recently for a sensor cleaning and had to make some late setting changes (something I should have done upon receiving my camera back from Canon).  But once I got dialed in I was back to my comfort zone and simply shooting.

Cal State Long Beach Women's Basketball

First time covering the Cal State Long Beach Women's Basketball as they went up against Dartmouth and I have to say I was a bit disappointed with the fan base that was there, or I should say lack of fans. I cover a lot of high school football and get disappointed when parents don't come to watch their kids play ball, although with high school the games usually start at 3pm, which is during work hours. I just like to see a lot more participation with fans and the school, it motivates the athletes during their game.

Any hoot, it was a good game to watch and shoot and hopefully you will feel as I do, that I ended up with some nice shots.
