Poly Boys Varsity Soccer vs Cabillo

I'm quite a bit behind here and haven't posted in some time, so about two weeks ago I was asked to cover the varsity Poly boys soccer game against Cabrillo at Poly High.

This was a very close game and a fun to shoot.  I am happy with what I ended up with, but felt I didn't do as good as I should have, but that is just me.

The game was tied 1-1 during the last few minutes when Cabrillo made an attempt on Poly's goal.  I was able to get the shot just as it was called a non-goal due to off sides.  You can see in the shot (last shot) that the ref was blowing his whistle calling hte foul.  Not the best angle, but a good shot.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the shots.

Millikan Girls Varsity Soccer vs Poly

This has not been a good week at all, but it did pick up when I got a text requesting me to cover the Millikan vs Poly girls soccer game.  The only down side was the game started at 5pm, which meant a night game.

When it comes down to shooting sports I will adapt and get the shots I want.  So enjoy a few of my favorites from the game.

Boys Varsity Soccer - Lakewood vs Poly

Yesterday I was off and it was such a beautiful day I decided to head out and shoot some high school soccer. After checking the schedule I found a game that I thought would give me some great action to shoot - "Lakewood vs Poly". So I headed to Poly high to enjoy the day.

As soccer games go I didn't leave with many shots. There was a lot of good action, just that when the action occured it was either on the far end of the field or there were just too many other players between me and them, but before you think - What no action! Look below, I was able to come away with some nice action as you really know I could.

Lakewood Girls Varsity Soccer vs Poly

Well here we are at the end of another girls varsity soccer season for me, that is unless they make the playoffs, then I'll get at least another game.
Poly is a tough team and never one to take lightly and although Lakewood played a good game the ended with a loss. Here are some shots from the game to share.

Lakewood Girls Freshmen / Sophmore Soccer vs Poly

I've been asked to photograph the Lakewood Girls Varsity Soccer team and put together a DVD slide show for their end of season banquet. It was also requested that I capture the freshmen / sophomore team and the Jr. Varsity team. Now as you have seen I've been out to two of the varsity games. Since the varsity team had an away game I decided to take the opportunity and shoot the frosh team at home.

Now Poly, who they were playing, is usually a tough team to beat, but our frosh team came ready to play and dominated the game from their opening drive.

Below are a few pictures from the game to share.

Jr. Varsity Girls Soccer "Lakewood vs Poly"

I've been shooting the varsity team throughtout the season and finally had a chance to get some shots of the JV team. It was a great day to shoot and I ended up with some nice shots. Now the JV team plays halfs that are five minutes shorter so once this game was over I went to the varsity game, which was on the adjacent field.

Used the beast (300 f/2.8) with my camera at aperture priority at f/2.8 and ISO of 200.

"Varsity"
I was only able to catch the last few minutes of the varsity game, so here are a couple of shots to share.
