Belmont Shore Women's Rugby vs Tempe

Yesterday was a beautiful day to simply be outside, so I checked my various schedules to see who was active and found that the Belmont Shore Women's Rugby team had a game against Tempe at Hill Middle School, so I got my stuff together and headed out.

It was great to be out shooting and a great game to cover.  I've been shooting the Belmont Shore Women's Rugby team for a few years now and always enjoy watching them play.

CSU Long Beach Woman's Rugby vs CSU Northridge

Was able to head out again for another week of women's rugby.  Cal State University Long Beach had their second home game in two weeks, this time going against Cal State University Northridge.

 

This started out as a rough one with Northridge controlling the ball and scoring first.  During the second half Long Beach pick up the pace and worked it hard scoring three consecutive times.  The final score was 22 - 13 with Long Beach taking the win.  A great game to watch and shoot.

Belmont Shores Women's Rugby vs Tempe

Its been quite some time since I've been out covering a rugby match, so when I found out they were having a local game this past Saturday I just had to get out there to capture them in action.

 

I have to say I totally misjudged the method I would use to shoot.  I tried to stay with the action and as a result missed most of it.  Hopefully I will get another chance to get out and cover a game.

7's Rugby Tournament

 I attended a local 7's rugby tournament put on by the Women's Belmont Shores Rugby team at El Dorado Park this past Saturday.

After all the wildlife shooting I've been doing it was great to get out and shoot some sports.  Not only was it nice shooting sports, or even rugby, which I have covered for two years now, it was a great morning to be out.

Although I've done some shooting for the Belmont Shores Women's Rugby team in the past, for this tournament I was basicly out for me and wandered around from game to game capturing some action and just getting back into some good old sports shooting.

Belmont Shores Women's Rugby

This last Sunday I had the opportunity to shoot some women's rugby. I have been capturing these girls in action during the last two years and it's always a pleasure to watch them and capture the intensity in which they play. During this game Belmont Shores played against Las Vegas.

Although the clouds were somewhat dark and looming it was a great day to just be outside shooting, I couldn't have asked for a better day. Here are my favorites from the game.
