Family Portrait - Family B

Recently I was asked to take some family portraits of an old friend, just something simply and not to involved.  I'm still learning how to use my light, which I used for these.  I'm happy with them and know I need to work on my poses.  Its all a work in progress and my friends were very happy with them.

Oh and can you tell their Green Bay Packers fans.

Newborn - Zeppelin

My niece just had her baby and I offered to take some newborn shots of him.  I think I have an idea of what will work or look good so gave newborn photography another go.

Although I didn't end up with a lot of shots, I was very pleased with what I did have and here are my favorites of the group.

McCully Family Portraits - Angel's Stadium

I was asked if I would be interested in shooting a family portrait session for a friend in Angel's Stadium.  Now I wouldn't be shooting my friend and her family, which I've shot earlier in the year, but a friend of hers.

 

She continued to tell me their neighbors have a 14 year old son who has stage 4 rhabdosarcoma, a super rare cancer, and she wanted to do something nice for them, such as a nice family portrait, which is where I come in.

 

For me this would be a once in a lifetime opportunity to have access to Angel's Stadium for portraits, but on the other had an opportunity to do something nice for a family who has got to be going through a very rough time in their lives.

 

It was overcast and raining two days prior to our scheduled shoot, but the morning of the shoot looked to be a beautiful day.  I got to the stadium early and thought I'd take advantage of the extra time to take some shots of the stadium's entrance.

 

It was my pleasure and honor to photograph the McCully family.  Here you'll find some of my favorites from the shoot.

 

Kirstyn - Senior Portraits

 Here we go again, the sports guy doing senior portraits, well once again I surprised myself.  Its not a matter of thinking I'm all that, because I know I'm far from it, but I went into this shoot rather nervous.  Most, well if not all of my prior senior portraits have been done for friends and I'm not talking about the parents.  All of my prior seniors I have known and already felt comfortable around them.  So in this shoot I really stepped out of my comfort zone, but this is something I would love to do more of.

Within the first few minutes I knew all was going to be great, not because of the shots, but I kept to my true form and personality and we were both comfortable after a few shots.  Once those first few moments & shots were over we could both relax and enjoy the shoot.

Kirstyn is a beautiful young lady and it was my pleasure to capture her beauty in these shots.

My Sweetheart Sarah

 Ok, now be gental, but I've been wanting to get out to do more portraits and simply practice.  Not too long ago I bought my daughter a $100 coat for $10 and love how it looks on her.  I've been wanting to get her out to take some shots, not just to practice, but to get some recent shots of my sweetheart as well as taking some with the new coat.

I really do love how these came out, especially the last two, but I really need to get better with my white balance.  I do have a whibal card (white balance), but as usually left that piece of equimpment at home.  So I'll just have to have my daughter come out again to take more pictures - oh gosh.

Any hoot, please feel free to give me your thoughts and things that I should change or simple work on.

The following two shots are very similar.  One was taken while sitting in the grass while the other was taken while I was laying in the grass.  I really like these two shots, but interested in which you prefer.

Higham Family Session

Recently I was asked to photograph the Higham family, which to be honest I was little nervous about. I don't really do portraits, especially family portraits, although I want to do more of them I'm concerned about presenting them with good quality images. Not putting much thought into, but later I came to the realization that this shoot covered three generations and it was an honor to photograph them together.

So I will say I am very happy with how these turned out, but you be the judge.
