Wetlands to Sunsets - recent captures

I've been able to visit the wetlands and a couple of beaches for some beautiful sunsets during the last few weeks and I'm finally finishing my editing of the shots, so I thought I'd share some captures from the Bolsa Chica Wetlands and some very colorful sunsets from Huntington and Seal Beach.

Please enjoy the wonderful things out there through my eyes and lens

Winter Sunsets

With football over I am now able to focus on my other photography passions and one of those are my sunsets, especially those at both Huntington Beach and Seal Beach.

These first three shots were taken at Huntington Beach during mid Novemeber and are HDR.  Three shots were taken at an exposure of +2 / 0 / -2 and combined in Photomatix.  The shots were then edited and process in both Lightroom and Photoshop.

This next set of shots were taken at Seal Beach and only one of them I did by HDR.  Can you guess which one.  I've had a Graduated Neutral Density filter for some time now, but never used it, so I thought I should break it out and give a play.  Although I did take the same three exposed shots (+2 / 0 /-2) I only processed one of them for my edit.  Still learning and playing.

So again I ask - what shot was processed as an HDR?

So. Cal Beaches

Its been quite some time since I've shared some of my beach and sunset shots, so that's what this post is about.

I've been heading out to Seal Beach and Huntington Beach on a regular basis due to what appears to be great clouds in my area only to get to the beach and have open skies as the sun sets, but I have been able to end up with a few good shots.

So below you will find various shots from my various visits to Seal Beach, Huntington Beach, and one shot from Manhattan Beach.

Huntington Beach Sunset

Been having some rain, which around my neighborhood has provided some great cloud cover, but what I see and what's at the beach are two completely different things.

So again I decided to head out to the beach for some sunset shooting.  It turned out to be a very nice night, although I was hoping for more deep reds, but some low clouds came in.

I've had a rough couple of weeks, both at work and at home (Nothing family related) and have to say being at the beach watching the sun goes down really puts me at peace and I feel very privileged to be out here capturing it's beauty.
