Christmas Nerf War

Something new this year. Usually we will have a gift exchange during our Christmas Eve get together, but due to various reasons we had our gift exchange Christmas day. To make a day of it my sisters decided to have a Nerf gun war, so we all got together Christmas day with guns in hand and after waiting 2 hours for one family member to show up (you know who you are) we began the preparation.

First come the war paint. Here you'll see my niece getting ready for battle and her brother with his game face on.

A group shot of all the combatants.

Don't hate the player's, hate the game

Every year our family get together for Christmas Eve. Well this year was no different. Thought I'd share some shots from our get together.

This first shot is of me, my sisters and brother.

Just for fun

Ok, for starters I have to give my sister the credit for these shots. While over at her house for a game night she showed me some pictures she took of her kids in which she had them holding frames in front of their faces. In her shots you could see the whole body. This gave me the idea to try something different and use some photoshop.

So with this new idea in my head we went to a local hiking trail and I took some shots. What I did was have each one of us hold the frame in front of our faces for each shot. I also took a shot of the scene without anyone in it. I later put all of the pictures together with some photoshop magic.

This was a test and gave me some direction as to what I need to do for my next try.

Since we were out I thought I'd take some shots of my daughter. We didn't have a lot of time so I took just a few. I hope to get out and take many more of her.

CIF Semi-Finals Lakewood Varsity Football vs Edison

Football has now come to an end for me. This last Saturday night at Orange Coast College Lakewood football played against Edison in the CIF Semi-Finals in front of a full house. The final score was 37-29 Edison.

I need to congratulate these young men for a great played season. After a loss to Crenshaw in our opening pre-season game, Lakewood never looked back by going undefeated through the rest of the season and winning the Moore League Championship, something Poly Football still can't accept.

I've had the honor to capture the seniors of this football team in action throughout their four years at Lakewood High School and have watched them all grow and mature from teenagers into the young men they are now. I have not only watched them grow older through my camera but have watched them grow into great athletes.

These pictures mark the end to their high school football career. For those who are continuing to the next level, I wish you the best in all you do.

Here are a few that I played with. I thought the action used made these stand out and pop.
