Welcome to my blog. Looking through my posts you will find that I love and have a passion for photography and although my expertise so to speak is in Sports Action, I have been getting into wildlife and senior portraits. No matter what I'm shooting I want to bring my client the best possible shot I can and give them / you a photograph that you will cherish for a lifetime. If your looking for someone to capture your child in action, to show the intensity and emotion in which your child plays, look no further. Just drop me a line (e-mail) at homerkenpo@aol.com. I cover most areas in Southern Califoria.

Lakewood Basketball

I've recently been asked to cover the Lakewood Varsity Boys basketball, which included a game played against Downey High in the Staples Center. Shooting at Staples was a great opportunity and experience. It was nice covering a high school game where I could get my shutter faster than 1/320 and didn't have to use a flash.

This first group of shots is from the lower class team (JV/Freshmen), who each played a 20 min scrimmage.

The rest of these shots are from the varsity game.

All American Football

Saturday I covered the Beach City All-American Football vs Santa Clarity Skyhawks at Vet's Stadium in Long Beach. It pretty much rained throughout the game, which to be honest was rather refreshing. This was a very rough game for the All-American team, but I was able to come away with some nice action shots.

Long Beach Middle School Girls Track - League Finals

I covered Long Beach's Middle School Girls League Track meet, which was held at Lakewood High School this past Saturday. It was overcast pretty much all day going from dark luming clouds to simply cloud cover with a little bit of rain coming down briefly.

Either way, it was a great morning and great to be out shooting. I have to say I look forward to rain when out covering sports for a couple of reasons. First I feel it add impact to the sport and to be honest, I just feel alive when out in the rain shooting.

So, here are some shots from the days events. Congratulation to all those young ladies who placed in their events.
