Lakewood Varsity Football vs Alemany "CIF Quarter-Finals"

Football is officially over for me.

Lakewood met Alemany at home for the CIF Quarter Finals this last Friday. What started as a tight first half ended with Alemany dominating the game.

I only have three pictures to share for this last entry, or at least until next year. This was a very tough game to shoot, not as much as watching Lakewood take the hit, but in that there wasn't a lot of action on the Lakewood side to shoot. Not many open runs or completed passes that I was able to capture. So as my football season ends I hope you'll see some high school soccer soon enough.

Lakewood Girls Soccer - Alumni Game

Recently I found out through facebook the Lakewood girls soccer team was going to have an alumni game. Since it's been a such a long time since I've had the opportunity to shoot them in action I decided to head out and see what I could get.

This game was very informal and friendly, so there really wasn't a lot of hard hitting action, but I did manage to come away with a few decent shots.

Lakewood Varsity Football vs San Clemente - 1st Round CIF PAC-5 Playoffs

The first round of CIF PAC-5 Playoffs found Lakewood matched against San Clemente at home. This had the makings of a rough game for Lakewood and to be honest I wasn't feeling to confident that Lakewood would bring home the victory.

It turned out to be a hard fought game for both teams, but I have to say that Lakewood played probably what was the best game thus far this season. Both offense and defense executed their plays with drive and determination.

Congratulations on your win Lakewood and I look forward to seeing you this coming Friday at home against Alemany.

Here are some shots from the game.

The below shot is not technically correct, but none the less I like it.

Lakewood Blue Little League Baseball

Went out this last Sunday and shot some baseball. A friend of the family's son is playing in a local winter league and the wife and I decided to go and watch a game, but of course I brought my camera just in case. As it tuned out the coach of the team has a son the the football team I shoot and after talking a short while I had permission to shoot some baseball. You may ask why, well why not, I love to shoot and it was a great day to be out enjoying what I love.

Below are my favorites from the game.

Lakewood Varsity Football vs Wilson

Not only was this the last game of league play, but it was also the game to determine who would take second and third place in the Moore League.

Lakewood came pumped and ready to play and quickly dominated Wilson in every aspect of the game winning 60-7.

Lakewood now continues into the CIF playoffs with their first match up against San Clemente at home this Friday.

Enjoy the pictures.

Artesia Punishers 16U

It has been over a year and a half since I've shot girls softball, which I really missed. This first young lady is a good friend of my niece and has become a friend of mine. She is now in high school and plays on a travel ball team called the Artesia Punishers. Since I haven't had the opportunity to shoot softball for such a long time I made arrangements with her to come out and cover a few of her games.

These shots are from a recent tournament they had in Fullerton. I didn't realize how much my timing was off until I started shooting and it took a bit before I was able to get the ball in the shot. I hope to get out more often and get those bob (ball on bat) shots, but we'll see. In either case enjoy the action.
