Welcome to my blog. Looking through my posts you will find that I love and have a passion for photography and although my expertise so to speak is in Sports Action, I have been getting into wildlife and senior portraits. No matter what I'm shooting I want to bring my client the best possible shot I can and give them / you a photograph that you will cherish for a lifetime. If your looking for someone to capture your child in action, to show the intensity and emotion in which your child plays, look no further. Just drop me a line (e-mail) at homerkenpo@aol.com. I cover most areas in Southern Califoria.

Lakewood Varsity Football vs Millikan

Week 6

Lakewood Varsity vs Millikan - Battle for the Hamilton Trophy

Gear used - Canon 1DX and Canon 300 f/2.8L IS

To start this post I will share the last shot I took, which was the hardest to take during this game.  Two things, first I have been covering Lakewood High Football since my son played there back in 2005, but I also shoot for our local paper, the Long Beach Gazette / Press Telegram.  This is the first year since I've been shooting Lakewood football that I took a group shot after the game of the winning team holding up the Hamilton Trophy and that team wasn't Lakewood.

Regardless of who I shoot while on assignment for the paper, I am loyal to Lakewood and have watched a great program decline over the last 6-7 years, which leads up to this shot and post.  For the last 15 years Lakewood has held onto the Hamilton Trophy, well that tradition is now over with Millikan winning and earning the right to bring home the Hamilton Trophy.  I only hope that Lakewood can move forward and grow as a football program to get back where they should be, a dominating force in the Moore League.

With that said, here are my favorites from the game, please enjoy.
