Lakewood Varsity Football vs Serra

First Varsity game of the season and first game under the lights for my new Canon 7D mark II.  Wasn't sure how the camera was going to handle at higher ISO's, but I did believe anything had to be better than my prior camera (Canon 1D mark IIn), which had a max ISO of 3200.

This game started out just like any normal game at the beginning of the season.  We had some light and I simply increased my ISO and slowed down the shutter as the light went away.  By the end of the night I was at f/2.8, 1/500, and an ISO of 10000.  I have to say for the first time out I am very happy.  I will consider pushing the ISO up a stop more to give me a faster shutter speed and see how that goes.

First this first game Lakewood went up against Serra High School.  I knew this was going to be a tough game for the Lancers and it was, but they continued to play tough and finally in the 4th quarter were able to put some points on the board.  I have to say although it was a slow start, they did end on a stronger note.

Next week finds the Lancers going to Pioneer High School to go against La Serna.

Please enjoy some highlight shots from the game.
