Lakewood Varsity Football vs Millikan

"The Hamilton Trophy"

That is what was on the line for this game.  The Hamilton trophy and bragging rights for the next year.

I think Lakewood came into this game thinking they were simply going to run and pass all over Millikan, but Millikan had something different in mind.  Millikan started the game receiving the ball and continued to move it down field for a field goal drawing first blood.  Although Lakewood returned the favor by taking the ball in for a touchdown, Millikan didn't just stop.  Once they had the chance they drove down field their own touch down giving them the lead once again.  It wasn't until later in the 2nd quarter when Lakewood answered back scoring their second touchdown taking the lead as they went into the half.

The second half of this game was a much different story.  Lakewood played football like they did against Jordan last week and dominated the second half.  Millikan was only able to score once more during the second half.

Lakewood finished the game winning 67 - 17.

Now next week we have a by as the rest of Moore League jockey for playoff spots.  The question for Lakewood at this point is will their first playoff game be at home and who will it be against.  Only time will tell.

Now enjoy some of my favorite shots from the game.

The Hamilton Trophy, this is what it was all about and will remain at Lakewood another year.
